Mika Ninagawa

Hi guys,

Today I'm sharing my favorite photographer Mika Ninagawa with you! I came to know her because one of her photographs was used as the album cover for a visual rock band (L'Arc en Ciel!) that I like. Total coincidence! But after that I watched films she directed as well as going to her exhibitions in Tokyo.

Her photography is characterized by high saturation and motifs of flowers and goldfish. At one of her exhibitions, I read that she achieved these high-saturation results WITHOUT photo-editing softwares, which was completely shocking to me.

I love the dreamy atmosphere created with ordinary objects in her photos, the harmony constructed by such drastically contrasting colors is also impressive for me.
