Look 28

Haute couture has always pushed the limits of fashion, but when I saw the Givenchy Look 28, I was reminded of the Visual Grammar reading because of the way Look 28 plays with color, volume, texture, and size. The conventions of a normal sleeve or shoulder are shattered by the sheer size and abstract volumetric shape on top. The top is mirrored on the bottom with a similar draping with the same two textures in the fabrics. Balance is also important, and the waist is defined slimly with an oppositional colored belt.

Look 28 is dynamic, interesting, and brings into account many factors relevant to graphic and visual design, so I was immediately reminded of our class when I saw it. Really beautiful to look at.
